Chicha Morada

Chicha morada is a non-alcoholic beverage originally from Peru. The drink is made from purple corn, a variant of Zea mays native to the PeruvianAndes. Its use and consumption dates back to the pre-colonial era of Peru, even prior to the creation of the Inca empire
This beverage was already known and prepared from the pre-Inca times, and we know that at times of the Inca Empire, chicha, was used in the most important ceremonies, and served in the KERO (ceremonial vase).


There are several types of chicha in Peru, such as CHICHA: PEANUT RESIDENCE,WHITE CORN, DE JORA, CHICHA Of QUINUA, among others.

There are several ways to prepare a rich chicha morada ( with purple corn ), this is one of those recipes homemade chicha in Peru:
Boiled purple corn with pineapple peel, quince, cinnamon and cloves, when this hasboiled and given a purple color is allowed to cool and sweeten with sugar, and alsoadd a little lemon juice if you want a finally chopped fruit (apple, pineapple andquince).
